Bali, classically known as “The Island of the Gods”, is a living dynamic fusion of the ancient and the modern, the sacred and the commercial, the tranquil and the chaotic, the exotic and the simple. A rich fabric of culture that infuses the senses and serenades the soul with beauty and inspiration.
Each day offerings are made at the temples, each special season and occasion is celebrated with Sacred rituals and festivals.
The Sacred Arts are highly esteemed and nurtured. This is the perfect place to explore what Sacred Dance means for you.
The Goddess Saraswati is the revered Balinese Goddess of Learning and the Arts and brings her Blessings to our Dance Retreat. She holds four gifts in her hands for her devotees. The traditional scroll or book signifies Wisdom, the flower turned to the sun signifies Devotion, the musical instrument signifies Creatiivity and the rosary signifies Meditation.
Saraswati is usually seated or standing within a lotus, showing the openness needed for creativity and learning. Her spiritual vehicle is the white swan, symbolising her divine purity and freedom.

We joined them in 2015, 2016 and 2017 for a wonderful dancing afternoon after our retreat. We shared Balinese dance with them and also taught them The Mandala Dance, a real highlight of our trip.
This will again be a feature of the “After Retreat” days for 2017 if you wish to join us.
